Always a winner! It's deceptively easy to make and oh so impressive when you serve it!
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 egg yolks, beaten
  • Juice of 2 lemons, and grated peel
  • 3 egg whites, beaten stiff
  1. Mix in order given.
  2. Place in greased pudding dish or individual custard ramekins
  3. Set dish in pan of hot water.
  4. Bake at 325 degrees F for 45 minutes
  5. (I find that it usually takes an hour to get golden brown on top)
  6. The custard will settle on the bottom and the cake will rise to the top.
  7. It’s magic!
  8. Delicious warm, but also works at room temperature or chilled…
  9. if it lasts that long after you take it out of the oven!
