Day Forty Six: New Brighton and Pier

It’s time to explore a bit of the neighborhoods, suburbs, and sights in and around Christchurch. Today’s destination: New Brighton Pier. Before I got that far, I got to have a morning visit with my new four-legged friend. She’s still pretty young, and very curious about anything new or unusual. I seem to have filled the bill, and she decided to come hang out with me for a bit.

As my friend Linda says, I've got a "road kitty"!

Not from the bedspread, this tiny rainbow on the door was from the beveled glass window.

I got in a medium-length walk on the beach, which was nice. I was glad that I finally got to walk along it, although it was a bit hard to think that I had hoped that one day I’d to be able to walk with my friend Darryl’s dog Asha there. Sadly, she didn’t live long enough for me to meet her or be there on the beach with her. This is my absolute favorite photo of her is one where she is running on New Brighton Beach, taken many years ago.

The way my day ended was great, a walk to and from a tiny Italian restaurant for dinner, which put my step count in a very decent range!
