Day Forty Seven: Walking Christchurch and more busking

Another January Birthday back in the United States, and this one is a double:
Happy Happy Happy Birthday to twins Ken and Mike Medrano, January 23rd.

Today I did something that I almost immediately regretted: I went to a VERY large mall in Riccarton. Why? I thought it would be a good idea to find what I was looking for. Which, actually, it was. What I did not expect or remember was how very LOUD and disorienting a large enclosed shopping mall can be. To be honest, I’m not a mall fan back home either, but I have not been in one anywhere near that large at all since I’ve been in NZ. I can say for sure that I won’t be going back! No photos needed, I’m sure you all know what I’m talking about. Once I was back outdoors, clutching my whomping $10 purchase, I started looking around town. Here are a few of the things I spotted on my way back to the museum in Hagley Park.

These fellows, Chipolotas, were very entertaining, and combined music, theatrics, and acrobatics with a fair amount of audience interaction.

I ended the day with a trip to the movies to see Disney’s Frozen, which yes is for kids but I enjoyed!
