Day Sixteen: Going 100% Hobbity!!!

Christmas Eve in Rotorua found us at Robert Harris Coffee for breakfast, and then on the road to Hobbiton for our 11 a.m. tour. This is something that I’ll be doing again in a couple of weeks with other friends, so I’m not posting many photos yet. Sneak preview:

Phew: They don't consider sugar and caffeine to be bad enough to do a booklet about. I'm good.

After the tour we stopped in a cute little place called Tirau for a late lunch. This town’s got corrugated signs on many of the businesses. We had lunch at Alley Cats Cafe.

We finished driving back to Rotorua and went to the 5 p.m. showing of The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. Talk about cliffhangers! Egads. But I’m in love with the song they play at the end! It’s by Ed Sheeran (who rather looks like a hobbit!) and it’s called I See Fire.
